Cell phone usage for 2022-2023

Hello Belleisle Regional High School community

The Belleisle Regional High School leadership team is sending this very important message out to you at this time of year to prepare all our grade 6-10 students about the change to our classroom management plans related to cellphone usage in the classroom.

We will begin by sharing our beliefs around cell phone usage in the classroom room over the past 10 years.  When cell phones first were used at school, we thought they were brilliant and a wonderful learning tool for students.  In the last few years our view on their importance has changed as we see them as more of a distraction and taking away from student learning versus a support for learning.

We are sharing this message now to ensure all students in grades 6 through 10 are aware that cell phones will now be banned from classrooms next school year.  Students will have to bring calculators if in the past they were using their phones.  Parents if you need to connect your student (s) you can call the school at 485-3030.

The school will provided laptops for all middle school students.  There is an expectation that high school students have their own lap top devices but for those who do not have them the school will provide them.

Thank you for your continued support as we begin the journey of learning with out cell phones in grades 6-10 classrooms at Belleisle Regional High School.
